Lydia Moynihan Criticizes DOJ's Handling of Trump and Epstein Files

In a recent statement, journalist Lydia Moynihan expressed strong criticism of the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) regarding its handling of files related to former President Donald Trump and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Moynihan asserted that the Biden administration has utilized the DOJ to target Trump, claiming that the agency has made significant efforts to undermine the former president’s credibility and legal standing.

Moynihan remarked, “Biden’s DOJ did everything to bankrupt Trump to put him in jail for four years. Don’t you think if there was any kernel of anything that they found troubling in the Epstein files, you would know?” Her comments suggest a belief that the DOJ has not been forthcoming with information that could potentially implicate powerful figures, including Trump, in serious allegations.

She further questioned the DOJ's motives, stating, “They did everything to weaponize the DOJ. Why, if they had that smoking gun, would they not have released it?” This statement raises concerns about transparency and accountability within the justice system, particularly in cases involving high-profile individuals.

Franklin Leonard, a prominent figure in the discussion, echoed Moynihan’s sentiments, emphasizing the need for transparency regardless of the individuals involved. “I don’t care if it’s about Trump. I don’t care if it’s about Larry Summers. Put it all out there and let the chips fall where they may because the powerful men here are the problem,” he stated. Leonard's remarks highlight a growing demand for the release of information that could shed light on the actions of influential figures in society.

The ongoing debate surrounding the DOJ's handling of sensitive files continues to draw attention, as public scrutiny increases regarding the agency's role in political matters. As calls for transparency grow louder, the implications of these discussions may have lasting effects on public trust in the justice system.
